“Very great hopelessness, they have given up belief that more can be done for them. Under persuasion or to please others they may try different treatments, at the same time assuring those around that there is so little hope of relief.”- The Twelve Healers and Other Remedies, Dr Edward Bach
Gorse (Ulex europaeus) is a Bach Flower Essence belonging to the uncertainty group. Its message is hope, renewed optimism and vitality.
Gorse is nearly always in flower but the bushes come into full bloom in March and April. The essence made from Gorse’s bright yellow coconut-scented flowers is “the light at the end of the tunnel.”
The extreme negative Gorse state is one of great pessimism, hopeless and despair. One has tried many things but nothing is working. “What’s the point?”, one says. Some examples of situations where Gorse can be of help include: long term hardship (emotional, mental or physical), convalescence, chronic or terminal illness, gloom, low vitality, long-term unemployment.
Gorse flower essence brings a sunnier outlook, faith and perseverance.
These pictures of Gorse were taken in the beautiful northern Spanish region of Galicia on Sunday April the 5th by my sister.
With love and hope
